Winders

Hot on the heals of a certain Mishkid, there is another New Version of Winows. It is called "WINDERS" this is for Black Country People and those that know how to speak propper.

Will you be there.

Quite a few years ago now (about 1991), I heard a song by Michael Jackson. It is a song that has spoken to me quite a few times. It was one of the songs I listened to on Malta as I just walked and shouted at God. It isn't a "Christian Song" though it was produced by a Christian "Andrae Crouch" and has a gospel feel. I love the lyrics and the whole feel of the song, so I thought I would share it those who read my Blog.

"Will You Be There"
By Michael Jackson Produced by Andrae Crouch

Hold Me
Like The River Jordan
And I Will Then Say To Thee
You Are My Friend

Carry Me
Like You Are My Brother
Love Me Like A Mother
Will You Be There?

Weary
Tell Me Will You Hold Me
When Wrong, Will You Skold Me
When Lost Will You Find Me?

But They Told Me
A Man Should Be Faithful
And Walk When Not Able
And Fight Till The End
But I'm Only Human

Everyone's Taking Control Of Me
Seems That The World's
Got A Role For Me
I'm So Confused
Will You Show To Me
You'll Be There For Me
And Care Enough To Bear Me

(Hold Me)
(Lay Your Head Lowly)
(Softly Then Boldly)
(Carry Me There)

(Lead Me)
(Love Me And Feed Me)
(Kiss Me And Free Me)
(I Will Feel Blessed)

(Carry)
(Carry Me Boldly)
(Lift Me Up Slowly)
(Carry Me There)

(Save Me)
(Heal Me And Bathe Me)
(Softly You Say To Me)
(I Will Be There)

(Lift Me)
(Lift Me Up Slowly)
(Carry Me Boldly)
(Show Me You Care)

(Hold Me)
(Lay Your Head Lowly)
(Softly Then Boldly)
(Carry Me There)

(Need Me)
(Love Me And Feed Me)
(Kiss Me And Free Me)
(I Will Feel Blessed)

[Spoken]
In Our Darkest Hour
In My Deepest Despair
Will You Still Care?
Will You Be There?

In My Trials
And My Tripulations
Through Our Doubts
And Frustrations

In My Violence
In My Turbulence
Through My Fear
And My Confessions

In My Anguish And My Pain
Through My Joy And My Sorrow
In The Promise Of Another Tomorrow
I'll Never Let You Part
For You're Always In My Heart.

Doing a few things

I was looking over my firewire Hard Drive today and cleaning it up, when I came across a folder called Matts Music…hello I thought what is this? I had a look inside and it was full of Freelancenerds Itunes and ripped music for his Ipod and his 30th Birthday party. Then I remembered I had saved all of Matt’s music for Heidi the evening before the Thanksgiving service, just before we sorted out the music and burned the CD’s. My mind had completely forgotten they where on my HD.

To be honest I haven’t really looked on there for ages, and I don’t think I would have been ready to listen before now anyway. Well any music Matt bought from ITunes I can’t listen too anyway as they are locked and need a password, but I did come across lemon Jelly a band Matt introduced me too last year. I was so pleased, I stuck them into my Itunes and had them blasting out as I went through the music, smiling away, knowing Matt would be dead chuffed I was listening to it. He loved to share his music with me, and I with him. I was going to ask Heidi if I could borrow Matt’s lemon Jelly CD’s to put on my IPod as well!

This afternoon was a little harder, Mrs FLN had asked me to have a look at Mr FLN’s computer, one of the first things I found was Matt’s first blog, I read a tiny bit, I just couldn’t read anymore. It is just fantastic that it is there, I don’t know if it is complete, though I am sure it is, it will be backed up very soon and then it will be 100% safe. I removed loads of stuff off the PC and installed Norton Internet Security. There are a few more things that I need to do including backing up all of the Documents and Music folders and any of Matt’s work. I will then do the same on Matt’s laptop. It is so important that anything that can be saved and backed up is and is put away for safe keeping. Whilst I was doing all this and eating cheese on toast I had a Lemon Jelly song going over and over in my head and I started singing it…Oh NOOO your singing that weirdo music of Matt’s!!!! I knew he would have been giggling.

Out of the mouth of.......

.....a certain Mishkid... "theres a fine line between shocking and offending unnecesarily - the first is a must the second is often better avoided!"

Such wise words; it was like she was able to read my mind.

Today is Chris’s birthday, someone who never looked his age or acted how you would expect. I can still hear his wonderful laugh ringing in the church and his running down the stairs in the Church Office. How I would love to give him a rude card, a bottle of wine and make a comment about him looking his age. Happy Birthday my friend, I miss you.

Yesterday we had a visiting speaker at Church, he was excellent, but it was slightly spooky listening to him talk. His accent was as close to Timelords as you could get, and some of his mannerisms and intonations were the same as well, I did ask Timelord if they went to the same crèche. Apparently he is not even from the same town, he was from Wakefield.

More things happened over the weekend, there was a wedding at Church on Saturday and we went out for a Curry on Saturday night with Gaye, Andi, Amy and Ian to celebrate Ian’s birthday which was yesterday.

It makes you proud to be British.

Being British is about:-

Driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. And the most British thing of all - Suspicion of all things foreign!

Only in Britain can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.

Only in Britain do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

Only in Britain do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries and a DIET coke.

Only in Britain do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters.

Only in Britain do we leave cars worth thousands of pounds on the drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage.

Only in Britain do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.

Only in Britain are there disabled parking places in front of a skating rink.

NOT TO MENTION..

3 Brits die each year testing if a 9v battery works on their tongue.

142 Brits were injured in 1999 by not removing all pins from new shirts.

58 Brits are injured each year by using sharp knives instead of screwdrivers.

31 Brits have died since 1996 by watering their Christmas tree while the fairy lights were plugged in.

19 Brits have died in the last 3 years believing that Christmas decorations were chocolate.

British Hospitals reported 4 broken arms last year after Xmas cracker-pulling accidents.

18 Brits had serious burns in 2000 trying on a new jumper with a lit cigarette in their mouth.

A massive 543 Brits were admitted to A&E in the last two years after trying to open bottles of beer with their teeth.

5 Brits were injured last year in accidents involving out-of-control Scalextric cars.

and finally...

In 2000 8 Brits were admitted to hospital with fractured skulls incurred whilst throwing up into the toilet.

It makes you so proud to be British doesn't it?

A few days

Had a bit of a varied time over the last few days.

Monday my Dad came round and fitted our new hob and cooker, wooooooooohooooo we can now eat again. I know everyone was worried I would waste away.

Tuesday I got up, went to Tesco and did the shop... It was full of mums with pushchairs and very old people making a quick dash around impossible.
When I got home the answer machine was flashing!!! I had a job I called them back, can I do these ads ASAP. I should have had them on the Thursday before, but the clearance on them hadn’t come through (I will write about the RACC one day) and they had only just cleared and they were actually missing airtime!!!
I had just received the email with scripts when they called again they had another ad ,could I do that as well? Of course I said. Well that one was quite easy, a Sainsbury’s ad using the same Female voice that’s on the TV ads and she was the main voice on these other ads.
I recorded all the voice parts, then made the Sainsbury ad for Maidenhead. It was a two part advert, an effect on the voice at the start with a sound effect under it, and just dry voice. I did that and sent it off to London. I started on the other ads knowing it was going to take many hours of very intense work to get these ads done, there were 5 ads all with lots of sound effects and 3 or so voices, the phone goes at 5:40pm "the Sainsbury’s ad...can they now have music and this and that?" Of course..big sigh*(having already checked if they wanted music) I’ll do it now, putting the other ads that are missing airtime to one side. I start to do that at 5:30 and send it by 5:55pm I manage to finish the first of the other ads for 6:15pm and sent it. I then stopped work and made tea for Mrs EB. I then went to Church and met Mike and we did some techie stuff fixing in Computers and things.

7:30am Wednesday I started on the ads again and had them all mixed and sent by 9:30, I had promised 10am, I like to be early. When the phone goes..."the Sainsbury’s ad"....yeeeesss? well they have changed the wording on the script can you get it re-voiced please? Of course I say, I’ll call the VO and book her. The earliest time I can get her is 1:45, as I am out between 11:15 and 1:30 for a Thanksgiving service at Church.

The Orbs helped me !!!

I haven’t heard a word on the other ads?

Harley Davidson

Well today has been interesting this morning my dad came round and took our cooker and hob out. News ones coming on Monday.

Then I went over to Bromsgrove to record 2 Harley Davidson motorbikes on a rolling road, which was fantastic something I really enjoyed. But it was in a enclosed room, so I have a splitting headache, the engines were very loud and the room was full of carbon monoxide so I guess I am suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. I took the recordings to Cube and then came home and I am now resting having taken a few painkillers.

Wednesday, January 17, 2007

I Started the day off by tweaking a mix of one of the tracks off Pete’s CD, Sounding good I think. I had just got it sounding OK when Ronnie popped by to size up our cooker, we have a new one arriving Monday!!! I got cracking again and Mr Administrator from Church called to say that the New Soundcard had arrived there.
So I went to Church and spent the best part of today at church installing the card and then setting it all up. It took quite a bit longer to actually get it all working with Audition than I thought it would, it seems it wont let you monitor without a headphone pre-amp!!! Oh well another thing to sort. I have set it so we can monitor via a headphone amp in one of the old CDR’s. So Sunday I start training everyone to use the new kit.

What, me eating again!!!

Probably the last thing about London. Whilst there we went to Langan’s Restaurant, it is owned by Sir Michael Cain (Not a lot of People know that!). We had a wonderful meal there.

I had a starter of Calfs Liver with red onion…I think it is the best starter I have ever had. It came with a sauce that just tasted amazing, a slight acidic vinegar taste with a rich beef stock flavour. Mrs EB had Mediterranean prawns that where amazing and very large. We shared a Rioja Crianza and had a peppered steak medallions. Then Mrs EB then had Apple and Blackcurrant crumble with custard and I had a crème-brûlé all in all a wonderful meal even though we did feel a tad under dressed.

Last night was fun at the Bishop we had a game of cards and Pixie won!!! must be the luck of the little people (says a giant!!!) Oh yes Jolly Green Giant had a very bad hair day

Today has been a tad busy, I had to do the usual Email's out on a Monday to say I am available for work. I then finished mixing the first track off Mullins Burger’s CD. I Then popped to Mrs FLN to take some pictures of her Out House roof to take to my Dad's to see if we can fix the leak. Then off for a tad of lunch with Mrs FLN it was really nice to have a catch up. (seems like ages since we have had a long chat)
I was then off to Church to pick up the new Dell PC for the sound desk to install Adobe Audition 2. Then it was off home Via my Mom and Dad's to show him the photo's from Mrs FLN's Out House. Then back here for a few hours of setting up a PC!!!

After the eye burning incident on Friday we popped into Brum and I changed my IPod, my old one would just change volume on its own. Very scary walking around Tesco and having your ears popped by a song a full blast.

Saturday was a jolly day, we popped out for a while, and came home via my Mums, I needed to go over some PC updates I had put on her laptop. We then went out to Gaye and Andi's for tea, a very nice evening.

Today is renewal Sunday at Church this mornings service was excellent but very hard. I really love Donald and he is caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to moving the Church forward. There is all that happened last year and some of us have still got a lot of healing to do. That is Ok, I understand what was being said, I just feel it may take a few us of a little time to catch up.

An other addict

As some of you know I am very fussy about what I wear on my feet. I only wear Doctor Martin's or trainers. I have Doc's in various forms, from sandels to trainers!!! I thought, "I wonder how many pairs of Doc's I have?" it seems I own 10 pairs.

Green Velvet, White Pearl, Brown Mottle, Brown Builder, Pink Trainers, Sandels, Blue Mottle, Blue Painted, lilac Pearl, and Dark Green.

This obsession started at School with my first pair of Ox Blood Doc's and I have worn Docs really ever since. So there you have it I am addicted to Doc's!!!! As Matt said, only you would have green velvet doc's !!!

An eye full of dinner

So Mrs and EB and I went to Touchwood (or Torchwood as I now call it) to hunt down a Fatman iTube; its a valve amp player for our IPods. Well it was a fruitless task as we didn't find it. Anyhooo we went to Nados

for lunch…… Mmmmm I hear you say, well yes and NO. I was eating a leg piece and part of the bone with Hot Chilli sauce flicked up and hit me in the eye!!!! Yooooowwwwwcccchhhhhhhhh It blinking well hurt !!!!! My eye started to close and water and sting like hell, so I had to pop to the loo with a tissue stuck to my eye and then quicly wash my eye out. Very hard to do at the best of times without having a bloke peeing 6" from your head!!!!

I am pleased to say my eye is OK and the chicken was excellent.

That Friday feeling

I have this bug that is driving me mad, either that or I am pregnant!! I am feeling awful most of the time, but when I wake up I am being ill. It is just not funny it is nearly a week now. Mrs EB and I are going away on Monday for a few days and I want to feel good and enjoy our time away. Please pray for me and Mrs EB and our time away in London.

On my personal Google home page I have quote of the day, some are very good, some quite funny. Today’s quote is from Theodor Seuss Geisel or "Dr Seuss". I love this quote as it is how I feel about things.

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life's realities.

A Prayer

Being the busy media chappie I am, well us media type people have our very own Chaplain...I know!!
Revd Tony Miles is Media Chaplian and he has a blog and his blog is very encouraging especially in the money grabbing world of radio. I was reading Tony's Blog yesterday he had published this beautiufl Prayer, and I asked if I could put it up here. I pray in helps you as it helped me.

God of the ages,
you are before us,
with us
and beyond us.
Lead us, we pray,
from winter to spring;
from night to day;
from darkness to light;
from slumber to consciousness;
from an old year to a new beginning.
May your renewing Spirit burst forth into our lives
with forgiveness, fresh vision, and blesséd hope;
through the resurrecting power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Mullins Burger's CD

I have that horrid bug thing that makes you feel urghhh .

Well yesterday it was a fine day.

Well the day was spent trying to stop being sick, by the late afternoon I was feeling a little better, I took my studio to Church…for a new project. Mullins Burger is at Nexus and to help him with funds we are doing a small CD. We recorded 6 tracks last night. Mullins on drums and acoustic guitar and vocals on one track, Amy and Amiability on piano and guide vocals, Skip on lead guitar and Bass, Matt on rhythm guitar and vocals on one track, and Mrs EB on guide vocals. We finished by about 9pm. We popped to see the Bishop on the way home.

Today Mullins Burger came round and we mixed 2 tracks, they both sound very good. I did a little tweaking here and there, Mullins was impressed that I knew what to do!!!! These cheeky young kids today….

Anyhooo Saturday evening is set aside to do the full vocals and extra bits like bass, recorder, some electric guitar riffs, not at Church but here with some food mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Happy New Year

It's January 1st 2007.

Well the last few days have been eventful!!

The first thing was I had to get a new PC, my old PC is very poorly, and is just about to go to the tip, so I went to PC World after seeing an advert on TV for a big system PC with large monitor for a great price. I got it and bought it home set it up....then it turned itself off? strange I thought...Mmmmm I pondered, so over the next 24 hours I spent trying to work out why? I called the help line, and eventually took it back, after a big mess around at PC world I got a new system and it works a treat and is a nice PC. It is going to take ages getting stuff of my off the old PC but as long as it keeps working I don't mind.

I woke up Saturday and made Mrs EB and myself a cuppa and collected the post. I had a packet it was soft and squidgy...I opened it up and two sweet little NPower Orbs fell out.

I wasn't expecting them.

We went into Brum and did some shopping and ended up in Selfridges and at the Icecream department Morelli's how amazing was my Icecream!!!Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm so tasty.

Yesterday was Church, Rev D was excellent, though Baddog's son has some very strange ideas about what happens at Church, did he really expect to take his trousers off? The services where hard, but Rev D did an amazing job again. Anyhoo I went home after as Mrs EB wasn't feeling well, and I was starting to feel a bit naff, and today we're both feeling urghhh,

What a Happy New Year,

Oh yes, here is Pixey or is it Poxie with Robbie
